With over three decades of martial arts experience, Mr. Jason has dedicated his life to empowering students at the Canadian Black Belt Academy. He is a 6th-degree black belt in Karate and a 3rd-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, proudly earning his Jiu-Jitsu ranks under the legendary Master Royler Gracie Master Royler Gracie of Gracie Humaitá. Mr. Jason combines decades of wisdom, skill, and passion to inspire students of all ages to excel on and off the mats. Mr. Jason began his martial arts journey at just 7 years old, starting with Karate, where he developed a deep appreciation for discipline, respect, and personal growth. His passion for martial arts expanded when he began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at age 15 in 1998, marking the beginning of a lifelong commitment to mastering and teaching the art. By the age of 14, Mr. Jason began teaching martial arts, sharing his knowledge and leadership with others. At 21, he was already running martial arts schools, further solidifying his role as a mentor and leader. In 2013, Mr. Jason opened his first academy, the Canadian Black Belt Academy, which has since grown to include three locations. Mr. Jason has developed a rock-solid team of award-winning instructors, whose dedication and expertise have been instrumental in the academy's success. Together, they have grown the academy to serve thousands of students across all locations, ensuring a consistent standard of excellence in martial arts education. Mr. Jason has also routinely worked with the Canadian Armed Forces and local law enforcement to develop and improve their combative skills and firearms retention techniques, showcasing his expertise in practical self-defense and real-world applications. In addition to running his academies, Mr. Jason is routinely invited as a guest speaker at business summits related to martial arts, where he shares his expertise on leadership, teaching methodologies, and business strategies for martial arts school owners. BRUCE GUEVARA 1ST DEGREE JIU-JITSU BLACK BELT / JUDO BROWN BELT Professor Bruce Guevara was raised in the Chicago-land area of Illinois and currently holds a 1st Degree Black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Professor Christian "Xaropinho" Uflacker and Judo Brown Belt under Sensei Anna Graham. Professor Bruce has dedicated his life to growing the jiu-jitsu culture in the midwest while influencing and bringing exposure to as many people as possible. Professor Bruce started training and competing in 2006, while pursuing a degree in Economics from Northern Illinois University. After competing and winning many midwest tournaments, Professor Bruce began competing nationally in the biggest organizations in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, such as IBJJF, ADCC, and FILA. During a 9-year competition span, Professor Bruce has become champion in many competitions including NAGA Expert division, ADCC Chicago, IBJJF Open and FIVE Grappling. During the FILA Grappling World Championships, Bruce finished with a silver medal. Professor Bruce has a growing hunger for competition and plans to continue in the spirit of competing. Meanwhile, his goal is to keep developing his students with defense techniques for real-life encounters. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a self-defense Martial Art built around family & respect.
